• 3rd 4th November. Climate Camp “Where Next?”

Motivate and inspire Climate Camp supporters to do ten days of SimPol street stalls in people’s own high streets bringing in the local global connection rather than one focussed action. The meeting is in Oxford. Support is required to get the majority to move from an adversarial, us and them approach to a more "accept, forgive, adjust and improve, open to all" approach. Many Campers have adopted already at stalls I did at the previous Climate Camps. With just a few active Adopters we now have 27 MPs Pledged. Just imagine how many could we get with a focussed and collaborative approach across the UK and worldwide. Revolution!!!

With estimates saying we have already gone past 2 parts per square million of atmospheric carbon, there is a blindingly obvious need for grassroots driven global co-operation to deal with the fall out!

• 14th November, 5 pm. University of Sussex talk on Simpol by Barnaby Flynn. Exact location not yet confirmed.
SimPol (The Simultaneous Policy) is a grassroots global campaign to DRIVE governments to co-operatively solve global problems such as war, poverty, environmental destruction and excessive corporate power.
Local and national campaigner, Barnaby Flynn, will explain what a world would be like with SimPol implemented by popular consent and how together we can achieve this in a short timeframe. He will also explain how, on the evolutionary continuum, global co-operation is the compelling new mind-set for the global community.
• 10th November. Barnaby is to talk and play music for an hour and a half between 1.30- 3pm on Brighton’s “Radio 4a” pirate radio station. 101.4 FM Watch out for your bass bins and let the neighbours know you’ll be listening large.

I will hold impromptu stalls around the place. If you want to do one let me know or look out for this space to see if I’m up to it. 07799603042

SP to save the global economy?

In this Halifax News article J. Colin Dodds, worries about an upcoming financial meltdown due to US recession and hopes a global structure will solve the problem... He seems comforted that the IMF will sort it out. However a ‘global body’ that is heavily represented by US and other Western players and undemocratic to boot may well have a disturbing effect on the global economy as they try to work out what they want to save first. Will it be the overall balance of the global economy? Or will it be those worst hit? Or will their own national interests take precedence?

These are indeed interesting times, and pretty soon they may be very scary times. It is strange that many people seem to go on with their daily lives as if oblivious to our impending challenges. It is strange that people are not calling out from the rooftops for solutions. We have a great solution in Simultaneous Policy and it’s only going to become more relevant as we get closer to a crunch time. The current challenge is to get the message out there to people so that they will be ready to welcome it when the time is right.

Economic Crisis to be the opening for full-scale democratic rule?

A bleak vision of the past present and future of economics and the hands that mould it is given by the Guardian Economics Editor, Larry Elliot. He presents the case of an undemocratic elite playing out a game of hide and seek with our money.

Warning us that they are not in it for our benefit, Elliot suggests these people aren’t to be trusted, and finds fault with their world view of economic liberalism (the idea that there should be no restraint on capital exchange)… It is out of control and he envisions a “full-scale financial economic crisis in the US” in the near future.

He leaves us with a glimmer of hope… an end to unpopulist rule and the introduction of populist governance. He does not say how this will be brought about, but it is possible that a movement such as the Simultaneous Policy will usher in this new world. Let us hope that we will become stronger, wiser and more united through the changes the future brings.

APEC put forward their version of how to save the world from environmental catastrophe

The Sydney Morning Herald printed a statement from APEC – the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation - on how they believe they can save the world from environmental catastrophe.

APEC’s primary concern is the economy – they assert that economic growth is synonymous with living standards: More growth, better standards. They say that tariffs and other obstructions to free-trade impede economic growth and therefore should be removed. Obstructions to free-trade include environmental crisis.

They believe environmental crisis can be escaped by methods such as promoting energy efficiency, reforestation, low emissions technology, trade in environmental goods, civil aviation transport. In order to promote these things they suggest the removal of trade tariffs. They claim that “Open trade, investment and environmental policies are crucial to disseminating low emissions products, technologies and best practices”.

The APEC put forward one of many possible solutions to our environmental crisis. All potential solutions need to be scrutinised and the best one chosen.

The International Simultaneous Policy Organisation (Simpol) is a group that collects potential solutions and puts them forward for public discussion and scrutiny. The purpose is to find out which is believed to be the best one.

Simpol’s powers do not stop there. They possess the ability to then make governments across the world use the chosen solution to tackle the problem.

You can be a part of this process by putting forward a solution, commenting on a solution, or by adding your support of Simpol.
